Pickups the new Luxury Car?

A lot do, sure. What got me wondering if light duty truck will require one was the mention of radio delete, where some (most?) back up camera screens are located, and the fact that some folks want as simple a truck as possible, without the frills.

On Rams if you don't have a radio with a screen for the camera it's in the mirror. Fords started out in the mirror too so they may still have that option.

Local guy that pulls a gooseneck daily had the camera relocated to the top of the headache rack when he put a flatbed on. Has a great view of the ball when hooking up.

That's factory on the new Fords. Camera on cab top for GN and one on tailgate for BP. Not sure about the other brands?

Yeah Ram has had it since 2013 if you have a gooseneck its every bit as nice as the tailgate camera.

Not standard, but available on GM (it's not standard on Ford either):
Trailering Camera System Available for Silverado

And yes -- all LD trucks will be required to have backup cameras starting with the 2016 model year (the law applies to any vehicle under 8600 GVWR).

Well it has been a few weeks and one 6 hour road trip and still have not needed to add any DEF

Still running on what the truck was delivered with.

So far the pickup checks all the boxes... even so it has been a little bit of an adjustment... the last 11 years the farm truck has been a Range Rover.

The Rover has been great capabilities except the air suspension is the weak link for towing even at rated 7500...

95 F150, straight 6, AC, rubber floor & manual windows, 5 speed manual transmission. All these new trucks are gorgeous, or passenger vehicles that has already been declared.
I doubt we'll see many of them on the road in 21 years, people won't be able to afford all the electronic repairs, while the engines/trannies may still be operational.
I am thinking of upgrading to a F250 4X4 WITH X-TENDED cab & power windows, Powerstroke, at 58 years old, doubt i'll never have to buy another one.
Come to think of it, all my farm equipment is newer, i might have to eat my words on the newer stuff.

I never said you did. I was just pointing it out for the rest of the readers so they knew.
Ford beat Chevy to the punch but at least GM is following up now. I expect Ram to do the same soon. Competition is good for us all!

One thing I don't like about either the Ford or GM system is that the additional camera that mounts to the rear of the trailer is advertised as wireless. On both systems it transmits the video signal wirelessly but you still have to connect it to a 12V power source. Neither system is easily moved from one trailer to another.
