So they called me back. They don't have any left in stock in either of the TX stores, but are going to look for another one to bring in from out of state.
So is the Woods quick hitch worth double the price of the Harbor Freight one? Looking at the pix of each & they look identical. From the downloaded woods catalog on PDF and the HF page.
Anyway, I think I will be going for it.

From Eric The Oracle:
Consider the SpeeCo version from somebody like Brian's Fleet. Should be less money.
Sources for a 3 pt. quick hitch are many . . . And it also matters if you desire a cat. 1 or a cat. 2 etc..
As Eric mentioned . . Speeco makes a cat.1. And a cat. 2 quick hitch forb3 pt. Needs and we have them available at Fleet Farm stores and Farm and Fleet stores and Theisens and otjers. And I assume Tractor supply sells either their own brand or a Speeco version. Landpride sells a nice looking one. And of course Harbor Freight has one. All of theses listed above are a single piece rigid item and some of them like the LandPride, allow you to reach back from your seat to operate.
I've never seen a Pat's unit in person and I've also seen at least 1 or 2 more similar items made by other vendors as well as wood's.
It seems strange that the smaller separate units like Pat's are priced the same essentially as the Speeco or LandPride units . . As there seems quite a difference in weigjt amd rigid metal design.
In fact I was particularly interested in the LandPride offering if I were considering one . . . until I spotted a small but important detail. My scut . . Massey GC1715 is capable of 1194 pounds of 3pt lift by Massey spec and possibly a bit more by real life lift. But the LandPride unit designed for subcompacts is limited to 700 lbs.. Now maybe LandPride offers another version in Cat 1 with a higher limit but if so that's at a different price point than the one I had seen.
Now discovering that means . . . is there a similar weight limit on the Speeco and HarborFreight units or not?
I have forks that can be used on my fel or moved to the 3 pt.. and I surely would not want to reduce my usabke limits by 500 pounds before even attaching my forks (or trailer mover or ????).
I'd suggest on any of these quick hitches for 3 pt. use . . . that you inquire not only about price and fit and advantages of the rigid vs. Pat's/Wood's type choices . . but also if they have weight restrictions.
LandPride is a sharp company . . why would anyone make a cat. 1 hitch that considerably reduced scut ability ?????
