20 series with third function FEL

Anyone hear any updates on a possible factory third function for the Branson 20 series FEL? a 4in1 or grapple would really come in handy. That combined with a nice top and tilt box scraper would make it a real useful tool/mini skip loader.

We have them in stock. The Branson units are diverters with a push button on the joystick to operate them. There are also aftermarket units that are true third spool with a rocker switch on the joystick. The true third spool type is more expensive. Folks like the diverter, unless of course they have used the true third function type, then they prefer that. For those that aren't familiar with the distinction between the two, the diverter just borrows flow from the tilt cylinders momentarily while you open or close the grapple. When you release the button, the tilt cylinders then work again with the joystick. A true third spool has a rocker switch that you can press at any time and it never diverts the flow away from another function. You can lift and tilt and open or close all at once so long as you have enough pump. For most homeowners, it really doesn't matter and the factory diverter is just dandy.

Thanks Dave, didn't know that. I was just reading though some older threads and someone mentioned the third function factory option being available soon. I'd actually want to spring for the full spool vs. diverter, but you never know. I'll not be in the market for the 20 series until fall. I bought from Ted Horning last time, and got good service and even some warranty work for a leaky axle seal on the 2800H. Looking forward to spec'ing out a 5220H open station on R4s with remotes in front and rear. I am heading up to Yreka during memorial day weekend though maybe we will stop in on our way up or back and take a look at your stock.

I've known Ted and Susan for years, and they are fine folks. Ted seems to be winding down after having some health issues, but I think he has forgotten more about tractors than I have ever known. We generally keep several 5520H in stock, and we have rear remotes in stock, as well as diverter or third spool valve kits. We sell about one Branson a day, so we keep good inventory. We close on Memorial Day weekend to give the crew a long weekend, but just stop by and browse, the lot is open.

Might I ask what prices are for the diverters and rear remotes? I am thinking of putting tilt cylinders in the rear of my 4720 and have the option of running items off the FEL.

I think the factory diverter lists for about $700 complete. The rear remotes are priced about the same for the double spool remote kit. I'm being a little vague since it depends on your dealer and if he has freight on the parts or not, etc. Branson does not have an official MSRP on these parts, we just know our dealer prices and margins differ between dealers. But I'd think $1500'ish would get you both kits shipped to you. Easy enough to install. That would not include tilt cylinders. You would have a nice clean factory dual remote to QC's in the rear, and a single remote up front that is joystick activated. A nice system, and fairly priced.

Id love to do business with you guys, but you're a bit too far north. I am up in the bay area often, but even that is 8 hour drive for me. So I have no local dealers anywhere.

I do not have any pictures handy at the moment, but I'll try to remember to snap a couple next time I see one so equipped. We sell a lot of grapples and 4-n-1 buckets, hence the need to stock all the hydraulic options.

Temecula, you are way south! We run down that way on deliveries occasionally, and that's a 11-12 hour run if you dodge traffic.

So glad this thread is here! I have the same questions. Do you have the part numbers for the setup you're talking about? I have recently purchased a 4520R and am thinking about a Rear Remote kit and some way to control a grapple.

For the 20 series, the front 3rd function is part number BZ00452. The dual remote for the rear for the 20 series is part number RMK2-20. Hopefully Branson will not figure out that they are about 30-50% cheaper than other OEM's on these parts... A front remote for a Mahindra 1533/1538 is $1690, the rear single spool (they offer no double spool) is $990. That is $2780 via Mahindra and you only get one rear remote. On the Branson, you get two rear remotes and the front diverter for roughly $1500. It's worthwhile.
