oops yes that is what I meant. They must be getting the problems corrected.
The problems they had on "some" (not all) of the first saws, were taken care of long ago...

What problems you "occasionally" see now, are on par with what the older carb saws had, and are taken care of with a trip back to the dealer.......same as the non auto tune saws were/are.

I know they were still fixing some saws last year. If you are buying a used Husky with autotune you should make sure it has the updated carb. I think the 562 was main model that gave problems.

That Olive is an invasive pest for sure. Not sure if you want too, but once I killed a bunch of that and multiflora rose with road salt around thier roots. This was before I was aware of some of the chemical "mowing" techniques available, and when road salt was cheaper also.:D

Some I simply brush hog, if it's small enough, in the "fields". Most of what I pulled yesterday was too big to brush hog, and would need to be cut off flush with a saw, or, as I did, pulled out by the roots.

It's amazing how fast it grows, and just takes over... our neighbor met me along one of our property lines yesterday as well, it was good to identify the line together. He hadn't been to that side of his place in 15 yeats, took a while to find the cement markets, buried in brush.

Sorry to reply to such an old post, but had couple questions; hoping you'd take time to answer. First, are you still happy w/ the 3-pt splitter? Struggling on whether to buy one vs a stand alone due to hours it runs up on the tractor (Kubota L4600 HST for me). I've read a lot of threads on this site about it and still struggling with that decision. The other question is palletizing the cord wood. I have wood palletized for seasoning, but when I deliver I have no tractor, thus I have to dump the pallets into the truck and then restock at destination. Pallets just help moving stuff around for me at the log site. How are you dealing with the palletized wood once you deliver it as it looks like you're going to do here? Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply. Jack

Something I found cool in a Magazine. Its called Fire Bull's EZ-load firewood hopper. They don't have a website but there phone number is 765-597-2480. You use your tractor with pallet forks or fork lift to pick it up. takie it over a pickup and open the bottom doors to dump in the truck bed.

I have yet to get my hands inside one of those AutoTune saws, but I would like to. According
to a Husky rep, Stihl licenses the technology for their M-Tronic from Husqvarna (maker of Husky,
Poulan, RedMax, Jonsered).

The AutoTune system stores history on the number of starts and how recent, then adjusts the carb
via a solenoid fuel valve. There are sensors for RPM, carb temp, and throttle position. You need
to reset the microprocessor after doing engine work.

In a few years, fuel injection?

Stihl already offers FI on their cutoff saws. I recently bought a new MS661 and the dealer and I were talking about FI he said Stihl will be offering it with the next 2 years.

Best of luck with it. Plenty of people have had probs with theirs here. First it was recalled, then even after re-release some guys are not happy with it and having to buy large huskies or the mad dash is on to buy one of the last 660's before they are gone. Others are trying to mate different carbs to their 661's, others have other probs. It's been about the worst pro saw release from Stihl I can remember. That said, those who haven't had their 661 fail on them are real happy with the saw's performance.

I have two 039 stihl saws I bought back in 1994, but only have about 100 cord through them. They both still have the same spark plugs! Lol
