Ecodiesel is not that much.
The weird thing about the up charge for the Eco diesel is it changes for each trim. If I remember right it cost the most for the Eco diesel in the base trim and less for each trim level up.

That is weird. And stupid. I hate dealer lots full of "limited" this and "platinum" that.

As do I! Last trip to my dealer for an oil filter I noticed quite a few work truck SL spec Sierras on the lot. Not as many loaded ones as in the past. My SL has got everything that I need.

I'm the same way. My next truck will be pretty doggone basic. The one thing I would like is xm radio because I listen to it a lot and that's really my only "must have" besides 4x4. It's tough finding a basic truck with xm though and Ford won't let you order it on the 250 and up in xl trim, only on the 150. I'm hoping it becomes one of those options that's easier to get across the board when I buy next time. Ram makes it very easy to get on just about any package you buy it seems. GM is weird in that they will have Onstar but no xm.

40% of trucks sold are upscale. My base truck listed at 42K, what is another 10K of options to make it livable?

I'm sure they sell a majority of those types of up scaled trucks. They just aren't for me. They also are bad about ordering a ton of improperly geared trucks that aren't good for anything more than riding around.

I've had loaded up trucks and it was a waste of money because I found that I didn't use half the stuff and it was useless to me.

I want power mirrors, power windows, heat, air conditioning, and 4x4. Do they even sell trucks anymore without that? I can't afford the rest of that luxury crap. Actually I can't afford a new truck anyway, but making trucks a luxury vehicle hasn't helped anything.

About time. Now, where's their hybrid and all electric version?
