I too bought 42" 4000 lb forks. A little more moveable in the barn. Cost wise is nothing. Mine came with a step on each side.

Check your Titan forks for excess movement on the frame. Mine would not stay on the locked position.

Some food for thought; You don't need 48" forks to lift a 48" pallet! AS long as you are, say 2/3 of the pallet size you are OK. A shorter set of forks will be much more maneuverable especially in close quarters. (I once sold fork lift trucks)

Good points, all true. Pros and cons of both.
Buyer should also consider visibility when choosing length..
If mine were shorter than 48" I'd probably have to stand up on the seat to see the tips. This would be worse with a tier IV tractor that had a raised hood to hold the pollution equipment.

Have had mine for over a month with no problems. Have you figured out what is wrong with them causing this problem.

Titan shipped my forks yesterday. This morning I got a call from UPS freight to schedule my delivery 2 days from now. That is some fast service in my book. Like the freight vesion of Amazon Prime ;)

The us frame (the one that's marked made in the USA) was not built correct so the forks didn't fit right. In addition I found this one to be light duty for my tractor. So they replaced it with the Titan hd version and while the welds don't look that good it is surely heavier and the forks fit like they should.

Bummer. I have the UA / USA set. They are still on the pallet, as I don't have my tractor yet. I'll post back when I get them mounted. Anything in particular I can check for?

Check the dimension on the frame where the forks hang to the bottom of the frame where the forks hook under there. If less then 16" you will have a lot of play in the forks. Mine was at best 15 7/8". The new frame is 16 1/8".

That was easy! Purchased a set of these USA made forks for $539.10 shipped with a 10% off coupon.

Thanks!

Pretty hard to beat for that price.
