Bye, Bye Branson???

IF they were "real" CAT engines, now THAT would be something!! SR
does that mean it must be 7.2 liters or larger to be Cat? Since Cat bought Perkins over 15 years ago aren't they Cat yet? Or is it the C3.8 Kubota/Cat that isn't real Cat? Or the license built Shibauras? Or Mitsubishi/Cat? To the buyer it says Cat which means the customer should expect Caterpillar quality. At times I wish I had stepped up in size when buying my mini-excavator in order to get a Mitsubishi/Cat instead of a Shibaura/Cat but then again I haven't had any engine problems except seeps and leaks so I keep my fingers crossed.

Just because CAT owns the company, changed the color to THEIR yellow and put CAT stickers on it, it doesn't make THAT diesel any better...

I always laugh when people buy "name"...and that's the biggest change in those Perkins.

According to tratordata.com they do.

Thank You for finding that, I didn't think to check their. Tractordata has nothing on the Mahindra Max 24 so I assumed they wouldn't on the EMax. Thanks again. Donnie

This is an interesting thread. I like TYM and Branson both but there are some things I prefer about the Branson including the mechanical tier 4 Cummins engine and DPF setup, which will now go in the TYM. I could be wrong but Branson's 20 series and even smaller 15 series has an 8 lug rear axle flange, not 6, which tells me that there is some beef going on, which i like and is perhaps also tied in with the fact that branson in general is a heavy weight when compared to others. Just speculation on my part, I've never seen detailed rear transaxle specs on any of these machines to be able to compare. Ironically, when doing loader work, the front axle is what needs the beef and I've heard of one very loud branson customer complaint about stub shafts breaking.

Lastly, it is interesting how many of the more superficial items like knobs, switches and even steering wheels seem to be the exact same across multiple lines like LS/TYM/Kukje. Self admitted fan of Branson here. I hope they stick around and continue the mechanically injected engine line.
