Maybe this guy was a deadbeat. But I also can see how having the homeowner come and talk to you, could get funny. We all think we are normal and reasonable. You are not hiring a guy to remodel your kitchen.

You should get what you negotiated.

If the guy was blazing trails to the valuable trees instead of making organized cuts, it suggests to me that he needed money bad or he was only gunning for the valuable all along. You don't do what he did when trying to make efficient organized cuts that minimize time/labor.

The guy that had the thread about building a house in 90 days, lives in nelson co. He timbered some and hauled to a local mill.

I have searched for that thread. No luck so far. Seems like it would be a good read.

Well the Arborists came yesterday and downed 13 big danger trees. What pros!





And some really cool equipment, like a 5-to-1 multiplier for trees that are back leaning.

Thanks Murph. It is a pretty good read. I'm only about 5 pages into it...gonna take me a few days, as I am back up at the farm and about to head out there and do my pre-work inspection of the equipment so I can work till dark.

I cleared 3 acres myself, for my fruit trees to go in...that has been a tremendous amount of work. But, I expect to have the trees in the ground in two weeks. My new loggers started moving their gear onto the property yesterday. I think they will get things done much more effectively than the first guy.


I can't wait to see these things at work.
