Kioti rx6620. Mahindra MPower 85P
I have read so many sad stories about about buyers remorse. Not as much about the machines themselves but where they bought them. I just purchased a brand new Mahindra MPower 85 P from my local dealer. Although I have owned a lot of heavy equipment, this is my first tractor. I was first looking at a smaller tractor with the HST transmission. The salesman talked me into a shuttle shift stating the HST wasn't as strong as the shuttle shift. When I mentioned that I would be doing mostly loader work I didn't want to shift from forward to reverse having to use the clutch 500 times a day. He said the shuttle shift is what I really wanted as I would not have to use the clutch to shift between forward and reverse. Two weeks later, after having a third function valve installed for the grapple bucket I also purchased (that leaks) they delivered the tractor to me and much to my dismay, I needed the clutch to shift into forward and reverse!! I immediately called the salesman and said this is not what you told me it was and he said "I will look into it and make sure it is functioning properly". I went to the dealership after many more conversations with the salesman still agreeing that this is not what we talked about and me saying I appreciated him being a man and admitting that, to make a long story short, he has now changed his tune after I called Mahindra and they said it is between myself and the dealer and they would not get involved. Two weeks later and I still don't have my grapple bucket, there were several issues with the tractor that I reported and sent pictures and still have not heard a word from Mahindra or the dealer. Guess I'm stuck with a $55,000 lesson...

Ouch. Sorry that stinks.

I test drove a 2555 with the shuttle transmission and all I had to do to change directions was pull the lever back to neutral and then back to reverse....no clutching. So do some shuttle trannys require clutching and some not? What is a "power shuttle"?

This is going to be an expensive lesson. Why did you go so big? 85hp is very large!

Some shuttles do need the clutch. According to Mahindra, the 105 doesn't need the clutch.

I have 75 acres of very rocky land. Need a very heavy box blade and heavy lift capacities for the grapple bucket...

I'm sorry to hear that Smokerdude. As for the problem it seems as though the dealer has misinformed you. DavesTractor is a huge contributor to the Mahindra Brand and might be able to elaborate better on your questions and concerns. Best of luck. Donnie

I believe you have a 10 hour test limit on the tractor, I'm not sure of how long for to see if you like it, check into that!

I'm confused to it states in the PDF brochure it's Forward/Reverse synchro shuttle with full synchro mesh it sounds like it should be able to shift between the two without the clutch. . I'm confused

Synchro mesh just means it shouldn't grind gears when shifted, The clutch is still needed. There are systems with "auto-magic" clutching during the shuttle shift procedure. Two different systems.
