Similar to the old buzz saw we cut a lot of wood up with when I was a kid except that was a big round blade we pushed the wood into. We used to not have to have all the safety in the machine and could think for ourselves.

Yes but with the buzz saw we had one person putting the wood on a table that would slide past the blade and another person taking the wood and throwing it in the wood shed. NOT one person with a hand on both sides of the saw. Ed

Worker killed in tree grinding machine in Guilderland

GUILDERLAND A 23-year-old worker died in Guilderland on Wednesday after falling into a tree grinder, according to Guilderland police.

Police said Justus A. Booze, a Schenectady resident and an employee with Countryside Tree Service of Guilderland, 都omehow became entangled in the grinding machine. Booze was pronounced dead on the scene.

The emergency was reported at about 1:15 p.m. and occurred while the company was removing large trees from in front of 215 Placid Drive.

The incident was still under investigation Wednesday night.
