Buying Advice Live PTO vs. Over-running Clutch vs. Slip Clutch

Many of those N's never even had a drawbar.

8n+ could.

So your argument isn't holding water... It goes back to moron driver.

Dont pull from a centerline above the rear axle!! How hard is that??

And blaming a machine for lack of needed features as a cause for an operator doing something stupid is like blaming mcdonalds for making people fat.

Simple.. You tractor doesn't have a fixed drawbar under the axle, then the answer is not to hook a logging chain to a stump and then the toplink. That's more like the definition of suicide... An average intellect person should know exactly what will happen when that machine starts moving.

The design of the N's tempted mechanically challenged persons to an early death.

Why not blame Harry Ferguson? He is the person that developed the 3pt lift. There are brackets available to this day for any older tractor with 3pt that do not have a lower drawbar. They are designed to keep the 3pt lift bar in the down position when pulling.

I read that as ignorant people killed themselves.

Sounds about like my first post on the subject.

Why are so many N series Fords upside down on top of their drivers?

I'd say because there are a lot of them out there (something over 500,000 mfg and sold), they are cheap to acquire and are (at least were) a favorite of noobie tractor users that just bought some acreage (holding my hand up here, when I bought some acreage 22 yrs. ago) and don't know the safest or any proper operating procedures.

You may be thinking of the Fordsons that would flip with little provocation. Again goes back to uninformed users that don't know about where to pull from or ignore the side hill stability of the machine.
