I'm picking up the tractor today from the dealer, they have had it for a week and I don't have a warm and fuzzy feeling that they have addressed the PTO issue. I called and asked if the problem was fixed and no one is saying anything. I 'm beginning to feel I made a mistake in my choice of dealerships.. they didn't even know what work needed to be done for a 50 hour service.

Even that being possible.. from what iv noticed through the years is 99% of the customers will have this problem at first if they have never used a hyd/electric type pto

What are you saying? is it possible that I'm doing something wrong?

I make sure the RPMs are as low as possible, the clutch is pushed in (even though this is a hydraulic driven PTO) and I push the PTO button. On my chipper it will more times than not break the shear pin, on the bush hog it slips the clutch. I'm really concerned about hooking up the mower and baler.

What does the traction clutch have to do with an independent pto?
It's the nature of the beast. Have just enough engine rpms to prevent stalling the engine when engaging the pto.

it has nothing to do with it...... I'm just stating that I've tried everything I can think of

It's not you, Glrret or your technique. It sure sounds to me like there's a problem with the tractor. Sheering a pin at an idle doesn't make sense to me at all. Fingers crossed the dealer can fix this issue.

There is a issue with that tractor. As I said in an earlier post the tractor PTO has a soft start and brake. It should not slam into rotation.

Kubota has been using a "Soft start" for years on some models.

Just spent some time in the service manual. Had a hard time finding it but there is a test procedure for the PTO flow divider.Ask you dealer if they checked it. Ask what the PSI was. I'll bet it is well over 200 PSI.
