Yep, my favorite of the 4 I've owned was the Grand. I loved the coil springs on the rear, it could eat up the bumps, really comfy Jeep. My 99 needs leafs again, bah. It's an amazing snow mover for a skinny driveway though. That's the only reason I've put the time into replacing so much swiss cheese metal. The frame has been patched with frame stiffeners.

The black GC is using stock Jeep coil fronts in the rear and lift coils in the front. Yep. Work great and very dependable.

No other company has came close to presenting vehicles that are so dependable and useable as Jeep.

I have no experience with the new JKs so will step back from claimed they fit into this mold.

My wife drives a 2011 GC. It's a great traveling vehicle. It's a Jeep as you and I know one only by the emblems on the vehicle. :)

NO Samurai pictures?

I use my for chores around the place... not offroad fun runs.

I do see some seriously modified Samurai's running around the Sierras...

I think you've already saw this pic, but I'll post for those that haven't. I love Sami's.

My son is a sami freak. Has a built tintop out in Colorado. I think he just got a supercharger he's going to try to add on. He runs with some of the big dogs out there on the trails.
Funny. I remember taking him in a car seat in my old jeepster commando wheeling. My, how time slips away.

Ain't that the truth. I have vivid memories of my 43 year old Son as a toddler wheeling with me in my 75 Ford Pickup. Wasn't belted in as usual. Took a face plant into the dash and got a bloody lip. He's the guy in the Orange Buggy. :)

I can't list all the options Thomas did to this Sami. Engine out of a car of some kind. Very cool rig. Very capable. Although not quite as straight now as in these pics. :)

Mine Samy is bone stock... even with highway tires and it's amazing how useful it is...

Small enough to go just about anywhere and strong enough to pull the empty car trailer from the pasture and take my tools and fuel to where I need it.

In 20+ years just two batteries... no tires, brakes, tune up, etc...

I've been building rigs since 1975. Don't need to warn me.

And why do you insist on calling Jeeps Heeps. You are obviously doing it in a degrading manner. Typical of Mall Cruisers.

It's all in fun until you get on the trail then everyone is a wheeler.
Pretty much all of the first Tacoma axle swaps were done with Waggy axles and springs. We called them Waggy 44s. We'd do those in a driveway in a single afternoon. Chop off the IFS junk then grind the frame rails slick, weld the hangers on, swap the steering and add the drive shaft you were just about done. After a while everyone started doing more involved link setups along with more tire than a 44 can take and looking for bigger rocks. Still even the simple leaf spring suspensions are a vast improvement over the IFS stuff.

Yeah Samis are great but just a bit vertically challenged on the ledges and falls. We had a member who drove one and he did great with it. Once in awhile he'd need to be winched over a fall or something but other than that he could get around stuff that would have us stumped with our long wheelbase and school bus turning circle. He could go around what we had to go over.

I like being able to get where I need to go... on or off highway.

Not so crazy about having to get a regular smog check but so far so good.

Samurais are very popular in the Alps of Europe... saw a lot of them with the hardtops up in the high meadows...
