Highly recommend Load Trail and the dealer in Halletsville on 77 South. Advertises on Houston Craigs List or Austin CL. He will have what you want. Tandem or Triple axle deck in between the fenders tilt bed. Go tilt bed !!! Dealing with a non tilt bed now. Ramps are a pain. Last year I saw some tandem axle goose neck with a 14k rating with what looked like airplane tires on it. Rated for 15,680 lbs GVW.

Texas Pride in Madisonville will probably build you a custom trailer with 8 K axle with oil bath hub. I think there is another in Madisonville - Texas Made.

Like the quality of Load Trail if they can build what you want.

Yes they do look like just what I am looking for. I am going to call them Monday. On all the specs they list they don't have the empty weight of the trailer. Assuming they are not too heavy I think they will work.

To anyone looking at this thread be advised that these trailers with a 17k GVWR are going to require a class A CDL as most trucks 3/4 ton or larger are going to have a 10k GVWR which puts you over the 26k threshold.

I talked to a guy who has one of these trailers and he says it works great for equipment but that you can't load a pickup on it. Since they are gravity tilt when you drive the truck on the front tires start pushing the ramp down before the back ones are on.

Yep, I was looking several years ago and the salesman sent me some pictures.

That last point will stick with me. It would be really disappointing if the need to move something with a longer wheelbase ever arose. I guess that's why the axels are so far forward on some makes.

There are workarounds for that, one way would be block the front so it could only come down a couple of inches. Then stop the truck when the rear axle is on the deck, remove the blocks and drive on.

Or, if its like the yellow Kaufman in the picture, (which has a hydraulic cylinder to help control tilt speed), you can add a valve inline to the line on the cylinder and close it to lock the trailer in the tilted position.
