Removing Stickers

Above ideas should work but WD40 can help.

As others have said, hair dryer to soften and remove the stickers and WD40 to remove the adhesive. I have used it on both painted and gel coat surfaces and was really amazed how well it worked the first time I tried it.

While not by design, the stickers on all my tractors are removed by a 3000 psi power washer. My tractor washing area is strewn with parts of those foil labels.

Sometimes a bit of goo is left over and gasoline takes it right off. No smoking while doing it!

All good tips that work, small test is best approach IMO.

I once purchased a Chevy Van that was covered with hand painted scenes to advertise the owners restaurant, while nice art it was not suited for my renovation business.

The GM dealer that did the transfer suggested Jiffoam spray can oven cleaner.
Well 2 $2.00 cans and the entire side of the van was back to factory finish!
A slight hint of lettering always remained due to sun burning of exposed finish but infrequent washing took care of that LOL.

For residual adhesive goo I always found that WD40 worked fine for me.

I had to remove large multilayer vinyl logos from three 15 passenger vans a couple of jobs back. I used a hairdryer and a white stiff plastic scraper (not the red soft/flexible ones).
I used carb cleaner on a rag to get the last residue off.

How do you guys remove stickers from vehicles?

My dealer put several on various parts of my tractor and honestly, I want to remove some of the seemingly dozens of safety stickers that are plastered all over it.

No lectures on the safety stickers please, I already know the dangers of all the various parts. I just want some of them gone. It looks like a rolling billboard.

Start with dry heat from a heat gun. Don't over do it. Many stickers will peel cleanly off with heat gently applied as you peel. For any adhesive residue, 3M adhesive remover works well. It can be had from many auto parts stores and auto body suppliers. 3M 8984 - General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner | O'Reilly Auto Parts
A single quart will likely last you for years.

The vinyl erasers as mentioned earlier work great (in an drill or other rotary tool)

For residue, I like a product called Critrasolv, takes the residue right off and is "environmentally friendly". Products like the 3M adhesive/wax remover also work very well.

If you catch them early enough you can blow them off with a pressure washer. Once they have a while to set it don't work anymore. I found that out working at a dealer on Bobcats. Ed

I pick at them. Sometimes I pick at them with a harder plastic smugger. WD40 helps remove the goo. Acetone removes everything.

When we sell our used company trucks we remove the logo, name, truck number and phone number from both sides. This is what we use, and it works very well. It works best to use light pressure and have the tool contact the stickers so it throws the material being removed toward the undisturbed area of the sticker. I also bought rod couplings that fit the thread of the mandrel to allow the drill to fasten to the hex shape to hold it better.

Heat gun or hair drier, and go s-l-o-w. The adhesive will often allow you to very slowly peel the sticker off while a faster attempt will tear the sticker.
