Is there a current list of Mahindra Red Carpet dealers? I found the initial list published at the launch of the Red Carpet program, but I cannot find anything else.

I'd be interested in seeing the list as well It would be nice if Burnips Equipment Co., my local Mahindra dealer, was on there.

I think Dave said he was once the West Coast Distributor, probably around the time that list came out. Then Mahindra got to be too big for their britches and Dave ran out of space. Now it's further South in Olivehurst, CA and they have a whole heap o tractors down there. If they'd update Google Earth for the Olivehurst airport you'd see a sea of red tractor where the distributor is.

We continue to be a top Red Carpet dealer, #1 in our region of states. Thank you for the kind words.

We were the very first independent distributor for Mahindra. We started that in 2005 and did it on through the very lean 2008-2010 years and then we saw the numbers really ramp up. As we approached full capacity, we knew we either had to split the dealership/distributorship and spend a few million on an additional place, or let it go and re-focus on retail. I was reluctant to trust the USA and global economy for such a big expansion, since that money came out of my pocket. As I drug my feet on this a little, Mahindra found some folks that wanted to give it a try. Last fall, November 2015, we built our last tractor for Mahindra. It was a good run for us, we built thousands of tractors out of our little shop. Now we have expanded retail with an orchard line, expanded our other compact line and started selling trailers. We have more than doubled sales, while at the same time we have lost the stresses inherent in a distribution type business. It's been a good change for us, but we are also grateful for all the years we were the distributor, and how our efforts were the initial model for other independent DCs.

The new DC is run by some really nice folks. We support them and wish them a ton of success.

Hi Dave. Thanks for the personal history. Glad to be one of your customers. I'll stop in next time I'm in Red Bluff. Want to check out that new Walmart Superstore that's opening there (after nearly 10 years of waiting for the building permit). Wish it were operating the 10 years I lived up there. Also want to check out that new Mahindra distribution center in Yolo County.

Good luck

There is no updated list. You will have to ask your dealer if they are "RED CARPET" which I strongly recommend.

It's in Yuba county at the Olivehurst airport, just a tad south of Marysville. If you go looking for it in Yolo you'll never find it. Odd thing, while Yuba City is the county seat of Sutter County, right across the river is Yuba County and Marysville. Ya think? Only California can get things this fouled up.

Yep, Yuba it is. Don't get over there much at all. Spent a lot more time in Yolo over the years.

The new facility is very nice. We did all of this out of an 8000 sq ft shop with a handful of guys/gals. They have 32,000 sq ft I think, a couple of overhead cranes, multiple loading docks and a few acres of pavement. It's s first class deal they got going. Let's cross our fingers for them that the economy stays strong and that Mahindra keeps gaining market.

Flusher, glad you are staying in touch with the TBN gang and posting occasionally.

I've heard a few advertising spots for Mahindra.

The local Dealer had slim pickings when we were tractor shopping...

Mahindra was definitely in the running...

It would have been an easy decision had Dave been nearby.

The place I bought my Excavator from is a mahindra dealer. I had looked online to find a Mahindra dealer nearby and had not seen them. I will be considering them for UTV when I make a purchase next year.

Thanks, Dave. TBN is second on my watch list every morning, after checking the overnight email. Still have a good case of tractoritis, but have to watch from the sidelines now.

OK.. Ill bite. What does it take for a dealer to be "Red Carpet" listed? I'm sure there is a matrix of numbers and not just sales dollars....

Oh yes indeed its about sales dollars. A Red Carpet dealer moves a certain quota of tractors. Let me remind you all again. Mahindra is all about SELL,SELL,SELL. Everything else including tech support is secondary. On a slightly brighter note Red Carpet dealer technicians are required to attend service training. :confused2:

Jabonee, a Red Carpet dealer does not get onto TBN and bash the company that feeds him. We ought to be truthful and helpful to the folks here. I'm the first to admit when there is a problem, and people like that honesty. I'll flat out say, like you do, that part xyz is bad and needs to be replaced, or whatever. But if you have an internal issue with support from Mahindra, you ought to go directly to the department head and hash this out. That's an internal "family" issue, and I do not think it is wise to air that out like you are. Absent that, I do really appreciate your knowledge and the help you give folks on this forum.

Browneyes, there is a grading program for dealers. One small part is market share and sales penetration. Other sections relate to service, special service tools, after hours and mobil support. Others are branding, like are we using the newest signs, are our trucks plastered with Mahindra logos, etc. Another section concerns parts stocking, do we sell Mahindra fluids, etc. Another part is about implements. It's a fairly extensive report card. If you are a volume dealer with a modern facility and you take advantage of the things Mahindra has to offer its dealers, it's not all that hard to get into the top tier. It's a little more difficult if you are a multi-line dealer as the scoring is weighted in favor of Mahindra only dealerships.

When a dealer hits the Red Carpet level, he gets some recognition, and also some Mahindra bucks he can use for a variety of things in the Mahindra store (for dealers). It's a cool program.
