However, a Toyota towing the space shuttle on a highway WOULD BE a problem.

I agree - not a lot of weight. I would think under 10,000 probably 8000???? This si really a guess. Anybody have a better idea.
I would guess closer to 5000#. Those are 5 lug wheels on the trailer, so its probbaly a 7000# trailer.

No pictures but had to shake my head today, when I saw a guy go by my house.

New-ish JD 3032 with loader and 5' brush hog on a trailer. Didn't get a good look at the front chains, but the rear chains were attached to the drawbar. That's great... but leaving the mower riding a foot and a half above the trailer deck raised by the 3ph, is not. Not a single strap or chain on the mower, and all the weight of it bouncing on the 3ph hydraulic system, so the chains could go under the front corners to their attachment points on the trailer. Guess he didn't want to scratch the paint on the mower, but is ok with the shock loads on the hydraulic system.

I guess these guys ran out of room inside the truck. I don't know how well you can see what they did, but they left the loading ramp sticking out about 18" to have a "platform" for the box to rest on. They taped a SMV sign to the box. Then ratchet strapped it all to the doors...

Hey... I did this with a 30 gallon boxed water heater yesterday... rested it on the rear step bumper of my van and ratchet strapped it to the hinges... had to go all of 7 city blocks to the rental where the heater went out... supply house closed at noon so it was buy it now or wait to Tuesday...

The guy at the supply house had a fit... said he was not responsible should anything happen... told him not to worry as this is how I roll...

I'm photographically challenged... the 12 year old Nokia Cell that is employed issued doesn't have a camera... I'm just glad it works most of the time...

But it was well secured and it just a few city blocks...

The hinge brackets on my 1985 3/4 van are most robust...

After 31 years of daily exposure to the elements I noticed some rust around the front windshield rubber gasket... still all original except for one trans rebuild... one starter and two water pumps...
