Is anybody besides Rustyiron here to offer actual advice or are you all just trying to have a contest to see who the biggest idiot is?
I agree, and he didn't even mention the $15,000 - $20,000 budget for jobs that would require a skid steer with a bucket, grapple, backhoe and brush cutter at the very minimum. Last time I checked the prices of skid steer attachments, the grapple, backhoe and brush cutter alone would eat up most of that budget.
Already listed the cost I could get each attachment for (brand new, could get a better deal used) and a 700 hour bobcat, well within the $20k budget. Obviously you didn't bother to read my reply before making such an ignorant post.
If it's not clear yet, your not the first person to ever cut and clear land....
If it's not clear yet, I never asked your opinion how I should go about doing that. Don't care what you think or how you do it, I'll do it my way. Your way isn't the only way or the best way and I didn't even ask you how you do it.
Seriously? I reckon if that thing lasted a day you'd be lucky.
Funny how they come with a multi-year warranty and the local professionals are using exactly that for this task...
This thread is done, I don't want or need your advice, I made the mistake of thinking there were intelligent members here, I was incorrect, I fully admit to that mistake and it was 100% my fault. I should have found a better forum, this place has gone really, really down hill in the last 10 years. Pathetic. Obviously the moderators here aren't doing anything to moderate.
I'll repeat again that all the professionals I've called in the area to get a quote to do this work would also be using a skid steer. I'm sure they're all too stupid to pick the correct tool for the job...
Thank you Rustyiron for actually attempting to answer the question that was asked. I'll post pictures in a few weeks to prove what a bunch of idiots this post found. I think most of you are just jealous because you're stuck with a 30hp compact tractor and that's all the wife will ever let you buy...
Let me be clear: I have a big wad of cash to spend, I can buy anything I want. I could spend it on hookers and blow if I choose. I choose a skid steer instead. Doesn't matter why, it's not your money. I have plenty of good reasons for getting a skid steer, but I'm not going to explain any of them because I don't have any reason to defend myself.
