I lost my best friend yesterday

Sorry for your loss. It's hard to be the one to decide to put down a furry companion. We recently had to put down our dog we had since a pup, our kids grew into adults with her but it was time. She was going down hill quickly and looked miserable the last couple days. Still makes me well up thinking about it.

My sincere condolences. I still get choked up thinking of "friends" we've lost over the years.

I have had to help put two of the neighbors horses in their final resting place this past year, and my eldest guy here is over 40. He had a real colic problem last month and everybody was terribly sad at the prospect of losing him. It is totally understandable how very hard it is to lose your life-long companion. Sorry for your loss.

Your story brings tears to my eyes; we have lost friends like that in the past. The pain is almost unbearable at times. I can't say that I know how you feel, but I believe we have felt something similar. Take heart; your grief is testimony to your love. May God bless.

My wife and I had to put out 10 and a half year old dog down a week ago last Friday. She wasn't eating and was having a hard time getting up. She was bleeding internally from a ruptured mass on her spleen. It was a very emotional day and things like this bring it back but it was for the best. I don't think she had more than a day or two left either way. Once they stop eating and don't get up much it's close to the end from what I've experienced. They seem to go downhill quite quickly.
