255 Massey Ferguson
I just bought a 255 that is equiped with a FEL, it is being fed from the rear remotes which makes it a pain to operate. I bought a joystick valve to install on it and don't want to use any of the remote ports. Is there any of you familiar with this setup I have pictures and info on the joy stick if needed. I think I have it figured out but I would like to get a opinion from someone with more experience.

Is this small line coming off the remote valve and going into the body of the tractor around the three point area the power beyond port for the three point. If so I need to run a line from there to the input on my new valve, then out of the power beyond of the new valve back to where it originally ran to. Then I just need to figure out where to plumb the return.

I also have the same question, did you figure it out?

I had one for years and I like running the loader off of the rear remotes. That way you can hang your arm down instead of having to hold your arm up all of the time. Sorry I don't know the answer but good luck with your quest. Ed

I don't think so. If this line is only powering the 3 Pt when you activate the lever, then it is not what you seek.

I may be wrong but I don't think there is anyway to do it on that tractor without adding a front pump only pump they have it the belly pump at least that is the way our 175 is the 300 series could be plumbed without hooking loader to remotes

My loader is ran off of 1 set of remotes, I still have the 2 valve control on the loader. The previous owner used bailing twine to hold the remote open all the time so I still have to reach up to operate the loader.

The hydraulic feed line looks like it comes straight from the tractor pump, the return goes to the oil filter. I dont see why I cant run the feed from the pump straight to my loader valve (open center) then to the input for the remotes, while leaving the return from the remotes still to the filter housing.

Any concerns with this?

Here is the danger. Let's say you pop a coupler while operating, it happens. In a normal plumbing scenario, the pressure spikes, the relief valve blows letting you know there is a problem and diverting pressure to return. As long as your plumb job acts in kind, you are good to go. Also, sounds like you are savvy but just want to mention, you can't run the return (out) from the loader valve to the remotes. That would need to come from the power beyond port. The out to return.
This is my recollection from 20 years ago... so I hope someone will confirm or deny this.

does your 255 have the factory remotes or are they aftermarket?
