Worlds Favorite Used Tractor

I had said MF 135 before even clicking on the link....

Those older MF and the newer variants are practically everything you need on a basic farm tractor and nothing you don't.

Some years back I would have said Ford 8N

In my neck of the woods the 8N is king of the oldies. Many are still daily workers, many are yard ornaments. Nonetheless, there are many, many still chugging and they are selling for about double what they did new.

The article is about old fleet tractor auctions in the U.K. Those tractors are not really equipped for the North American used tractor market, and they're essentially a bunch of old worn out tractors.

To me, the essential used tractor would be a Ford 5000 tractor. They were just large enough to handle a full size disc, and they pull as much on the used tractor market as they cost new in 1972. The old Ford cast iron engine was the difference between it and other tractors. They were just so long lasting.

Do tell me the functional(not cosmetic or manufacturing) difference between 1970's MF and Ford tractors sold in the UK and USA.

I saw a good number of Masseys in AFG on deployment.

Me too.
Mine was a 1964 MF135 diesel with Multipower. Had a lot of fun restoring and using that tractor the nine years I owned it.
