We have a lift and most things get the oil changed on the lift and drained into a 25 gallon rolling drain pan that has an air fitting to pump the oil out and into a bulk container we have. We do have some things like the semi or dump truck which won't fit in the lift. I bought a 15 gallon Rubbermaid feed trough from tractor supply and changed the oil in the dump truck today. It is within an couple inches of the top and heavy. I can't see how I will pick it up and dump it without making a huge mess. I guess I could scoop it out in smaller buckets but that will be messy also.

Are there any cheap pumps I could use to pump this oil from the 15 gallon pan on the floor up into the top of a bulk container about 4' off the ground? Doesn't have to be fast this will be done about 4-5 times a year.

maybe a cheap HF fluid pump will work for you.

5 Gallon Oil Pump
I've a similar one I use for diesel, for which it works well.

It may not handle oil due to viscosity.

/edit -
Reread the description more carefully - I agree w/ Foster - it would take about 400 strokes for 5 gallons.

It won't be quick to purchase, but there are plans/youtube videos on how to make one from a small block chevy oil pump. They can be driven with a cordless drill making it very portable. I have the parts to make one myself, which has been a work in progress that has been put on the back burner for quite a while , due to other priorities.

Maybe try a submersible fountain pump from HF, one's on sale now for $9. A lot cheaper than the waste oil transfer pump on Surplus Center.
Don't know how the plastic would stand up in oil, but I'd be tempted to try it, and then put it in a bucket of water to flush for a while.

Well for cheap if being intrinsically safe is not an issue one of those inexpensive electric hand drill pumps would serve you well. Probaly cost twenty bucks or less. Attach it to a battery operated drill and it gets portable.
