The guys worked in wet dreary conditions till noon then after a break, finished the trusses, purlins and one side of the roof. All that activity really made a mess of the beautiful pad but I tried to dry it out before they came back Sunday to finish.

Don't make the mistake I made when they asked me if I wanted in floor heat I said no should of said yes.

Crew came back Sunday to finish up. The weather was clear and they got after it early.

Curious, is there any bracing going between the rafters? Seems to be a pretty good span there.

The Bar Joist are 10' O.C. with 2x6 purlin 2' O.C. The roof metal is screwed 16" O.C. All the components tied together create a very ridged and strong structure. At one time there were 4 men on the roof in one area and there was virtually no movement as they worked with only one side of the roof attached.
I don't think there is any strength to hang weight from the Bar Joist as in winch, motor stand use, etc. I wouldn't use it for anything other than hanging lights, electrical conduit and air lines anyway.

The crew finished Sunday afternoon about 3:00 and had site cleaned up and tools loaded by 4:30. I had looked everything over well and other than a couple of screws here and there, did a great job policing up.
Brandon and I discussed how to extend and add on for a future Shop wing. I would recommend Brandon and his crews for the good work and professionalism they had. I have been involved in Construction most of my working career and it is very seldom that I would endorse someone after only one job. There were never any cross words, cussing, screw-ups or the usually BS so many in this field are known for.

I spent the next few days grading inside and placing small pea gravel. After several good rollings to firm stone and some finish drainage work, I started filling the shed.
Problem is that I need more shed!! Don't guess you can ever build too big!!:cool2:












Stay tuned for the Shop addition as soon as I heal from the knee replacement. Already have talked to local guy for a 20' container with side door delivered and Brandon is waiting on me for the roof extension we talked about to complete my shop addition.

Dollar for dollar, this is a very economical and versatile building that has multiple uses. I preferred a Red Iron shed but the $$ and extra work (concrete piers/ footings on me) would be over build to keep rain and weather off old equipment.
If I farmed for a living, it would be feasible as the need for a repair shop, dry storage and maintenance would be a top priority and a necessity to do business.
