Kubota L3750DT Engine Question

I am going this weekend to look at a Kubota L3750DT which is in parts and pieces. The owner says that it needs a new motor but the old motor comes with it. If I buy it and have to find a different motor, can any of you Kubota folks tell me what motors will fit this model.
The engine model that comes in the L 3750 tractor is a F 2302
I am wondering what other model will fit the bell housing and use the same clutch/flywheel combination.
Will a F 2503, or a F 2803 fit. These are all 5 cylinder engines.

Sounds like a project.
This may be a question for Kubota's support department. You could get additional info on cost of a new engine (ouch).
How bad is the original engine. One mans trashed engine is a simple project to rebuild for another.

The L3750 is one of the very robust L3 models - massive, strong and often worth restoring. But one whose owner has it apart but is selling without fixing it is a tricky proposition. Some questions that would be helpful to know answers to are: What type of failure was there? Has it been apart a long time? Are all the parts there? Is the engine just worn or is it severely damaged (broken parts)?

Replacing the engine is possible but swapping it for a different model can get complicated and expensive. The engine is such an integral part of the chassis the best route is generally to re-use as much of the original as possible. Good luck - it could be an opportunity. Realistically, it does have a serious strike against it if someone who knows its history is bailing.

I would add that L3 tractors are very satisfying to work on. Their build quality is high and if you get this one back to full operation you'll have something to be proud of.

Thanks so much for the response. According to the seller, his deceased father had bought it so other than eyes on it, there is probably no info to be had.

Bob,

I sent you a PM - seller's ad has some pics - I'm thinking my earlier optimistic comments were a bit rosy for what's there. Bringing it back may be more doing than finding & buying one in running condition. Dick B
