Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Either Harbor Freight is about 45 min to an hour from my house depending on traffic once I hit civilization. But, one of them is 5 minutes from work, 10 if traffic is bad ;)

Kind of a bad situation for me being that I am a bit of a tech geek as well and Fry's is in the same parking lot with Harbor Freight by work. Usually ends with no less than 2 hours between the two stores and a finger wagging from the wife. Those scoldings usually only have Tech purchases involved. She supports all tool purchases, they save us a ton of money :) I however am limited to one visit per month to that parking lot for personal use. There is also a really cool hobby shop in that shopping center with a lot of RC gear. Another bad place for me. I try to limit my passage between those doors to every few months. It has the potential to get really expensive really fast in there.

I need to go back next payday and get another floor jack. My "cheap Chinese POS floor jack" as my buddy like to call it is finally starting to give up the ghost after some serious abuse for over 15 years. I have replaced a few seals and orings in it over those years. Things are starting to get wallered out pretty well tho. Not bad at all for an 80$ at the time 6 ton floor jack. :)

Hi CreekyB, My name is Thomas and I buy tools... ...aaand the new HF in our area is opening 10 miles from my house- vs the previous closest one being about an hour away.
Funny. Luckily my local HF is about 35mi. Just far enough that I have to think about it.

Ha! One opened a couple of years ago in Fairfield, Ca. Visible from the freeway. On the frontage road, along my route from home to ranch. Just right for a rest stop halfway!

You know the rest ...

If it was only 35mi, I'd be there a heck of a lot more. An hour or so away is much better on my wallet. As it is, a TSC is opening up 2 miles from me..

Woe is me, no local HF. Have to savor this thread and the website until I visit someplace with one. Next trip to Ca is Sep and I'll visit that store again. :)

I here ya. HF is an hours drive each way. TSC about 6-8 miles. Wife says a quick trip in TSC for me last 40 minutes. I swear I'm not there that long. :).

My father in law is also on the Big Island. We always go tool shopping when he comes to visit.
