Backhoe BH92 replacement parts

I think Kubota blew it on this one. No amount of abuse should cause it to break before the hydraulics give up. If it does, then it means defective materials or poor design. The only way I'd see to break something is maybe if you hook it and then use the wheels to move the tractor, but it doesn't sound like the OP did that.

So, every time I dig or pry around a rock that won't move, or won't move easily, that's abuse? Funny nobody mentioned that when I purchased the BH92.

Very typical of ALL insurance companies sell you a police and when you have a claim they slide out and leaveing you holding the bag!! I have a BH77 and I agree the hydraulics should by pass long before that happened. Glad you got it fixed.

Looking at the pictures of the break, that looks like a 24" bucket, and there is much wear on the rear lip of the bucket, with the paint worn to bare, shiny metal. That kind of suggests a lot of prying work, such as using one side of the bucket to break or cut roots (Speculation on my part, but I know that happens a lot when I do stump grubbing with my BH). When you pry like that, the resistance to the curl and/or crowd forces of the BH is offset to the side of the bucket, which applies a twisting force to the boom assembly. The wider the bucket, the greater the twisting force. It may be that a 24" bucket is too wide to be used extensively for that type of work on a 9', CUT BH, and maybe 2 years of heavy use like that is about the limit. Can't say for certain, but we've used a smaller 18" bucket for similar work for more than 10 years with no such problems.

Not trying to be critical of the OP here... just offering a suggestion for why this might have happened and a possible solution.

Yeah the twisting forces on the dipper end are enormous when you tear out roots with the outer bucket teeth. I don't even like to do that with the 18" bucket. Stump removal is just about the hardest thing on a hoe.

I am not saying that Kubota has not fallen down here, but a 24" bucket for roots? Wow.

Backhoes are made for digging to their design limits as provided by the hydraulics, and they(Kubota) supply a 36 in bucket for this machine. And any digging has the potential to load up one side of the bucket more than the other.
