So in Massachusetts, the Attorney General can enact laws without the legislatures approval? Will she also ban box trucks like the one that killed 84 in France? I read the Boston Globe version of the story, and it didn't seem very specific or complete on the so called law. Over 5 million AR type guns sold, and only a handful used for serious attacks. Guess automobiles, alcohol, planes and the like should also be banned if you follow the same reasoning.

I wonder why it is that about every other home in Switzerland has a fully automatic military grade so called assault weapon stashed in their closet yet no wave of gun violence has overtaken their land? How is that possible if it's the guns themselves that lead to and is the cause of all the gun violence. I've never had that question answered. The only reply has always been complete silence.

I know, this nation has a big problem with obesity which is likely our nation's leading healthcare problem so clearly it's time to ban the sale of forks and spoons. From now on it's only legal to use a plastic spork at mealtime.

Interesting quote in that article:

Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley said Massachusetts’ tough gun laws are “undercut by the lax regulations across so much of the country.” Fewer than a quarter of guns used in crimes come from Massachusetts retail sales, he said. The rest are illegal or come from out of state.

I wonder how many were illegally purchased and how many were purchased out of state by someone who complied with the laws in the place of purchase.

I'm glad that y'all are so concerned about my home state (actually commonwealth) but I assure you we are fine with our strict gun laws. Unless one of you is from Hawaii then you all live in states with higher firearm death rates than we enjoy in MA. We are safe without needing assault rifles. And, no, criminal gangs are not running amuck with illegal guns. And our all causes murder rate is also close to the lowest in the nation and less than half of the national average.

So, if you really want to protect your families, sell the guns and move to MA.

I wonder now some of our more left wing guys on here that own firearms, how they square this in their heads? How can you be a 2nd amendment supporter and still be a left winger? I don't understand it. This is "a good first step". If you think it will end here, you are literally crazy.
