Mowing NH 450 sickle mover - cable replacement

Hi

I own a NH 450 sickle mover and I'm more than satisfied.
Two weeks ago I broke the tension cable, replace it with a 3/8 steel cable. This cable broke again when I lift the 3 points!
Has any one of you some hypothesis / explanation why this cable brock 2 times in a short time?
and any recommendation about how I should replace / adjust this?

Try to loosen the tension on the big spring to the last hole toward the gearbox. There is a used cable on ebay shown below. Ken Sweet
