Been bidding and sometimes winning a few auctions on
shopgoodwill.com

This can be a little like gambling because you might end up with junk- but

first won some great vintage stereo equipment- Marantz, Yamaha also speakers (Infinity)

and recently tools
this (grab bag) of tools came up for bid: crafstman tools.JPGcraftsman tool bag.JPG

The shipping is where they get a fair amount of$$ but - these were described as untested due to no charger
so I won the auction for a high bid of $38 and about $24 in Fed Ex shipping for a total of $62

This is what I did get for the money

19.2 volt Craftsman tools that looked to be almost new

1- 1/2 drill driver - same as the one i already had
2- 5 1/2 circular saw with good blade
3- reciprocating saw with blade
4- Fluorescent light
5- jitterbug sander with 3 new 120 grit hook/ loop style sand paper
6- 2 19.2 volt batteries- were completely discharged
7- Craftsman tool bag
8- Skill 18 volt drill driver, 2 batteries and charger

The skill batteries are tired but the drill works fine

All of the Craftsman tools worked like new. I did have to put a small dc jump start charge on the Craftsman batteries to get them to be recognized by my craftsman ni-cad chargers.

Sometimes these auctions are duds , overpriced or local pick up only- and have seen some complaints on a couple of searches i did- but this one I couldn't be happier

They also have listings for science /education and other stuff

so- Anyone else bid on goodwills auctions- and if so, how did you do?

I do but I go in to the local goodwill to do so.

I have not bought any tools, mostly collectible, games, nerd culture stuff and sports memorabilia. Got a Texas edition Monopoly game in limited metal tin that was still in it's brand-new cellophane wrapper for 12$ at auction at goodwill. While cool I decided to let that one go to a collector, for a nice profit of course :)

Good deal:thumbsup:

Some of the vintage stereo equipment that they auction, I would not be surprised to see re-listed by on ebay with a reserve of course.
