Looks like new Kubota didn't come with enough transmission oil

The loader has double acting cylinders, it doesn't have to be all the way down, the 3 point does though.

SR

it makes a difference though if the FEL is down our up, because of the different volumes due to the rod on one side.

Yeah I agree with some of the others' bits and pieces above. The fluid level was probably checked prior to attaching the FEL. The dry FEL consumed enough to fill it, and accounts for most of what was missing. The dealer must have missed that final check after the FEL was cycled.

Yes, I had to add a bit more after I installed my grapple. The additional hoses and the cylinder of course would take up a bit of fluid. These are just common sense things.

The L3301 has a dipstick? Nice upgrade, thought it was only tier 4 emissions stuff & a smoother 3pt over mine. My L3200 only has the dam site glass under the left step. With crystal clear fluid I could never see the fluid level. Finally got a jar of JD red hydraulic dye & dumped half in. Nice & pink now.

Raising or lowering the loader & curling the bucket or not will result in about a 1/2" change in the sump level. Add a little air in there & it's easily explained & not a big deal. Nice to hear the dealer making sure it was all good though.

Yeah that sight glass thing sucked. I always had to get down on my knees to see it, and like you said the clear fluid was always a bear to see anyway.

It is 7.5 GALLONS, not quarts!
(have not read all replies) - I've been 3 gallons low and no problem (cooler hose came off) was able to drive it to the house to fill up.

You need to check the front axle, back in the day, these were shipped with very low oil levels....

Yep its right between your legs under the seat. Mine just accumulates all kinds of dirt and debris because its in a recess so you have to make sure you clean everything off real well so nothing falls down in it.

I keep a small paint brush in my L3901's tool box to clean the area around the hydraulic fluid dipstick. I also sand blasted the dipstick so I could actually see the fluid level on it.
