The prices for trucks today is so out of wack what people make today.Had the cooling system and brakes flushed yesterday at the dealer and was checking out the new trucks. F250 on sale (employee pricing deal) 64000 bucks. F350 Platinum sitting beside it 69 grand. both 6.7 and before 13% taxes....glad i dont need a heavy duty!
Do not see many hot shot riggs on the interstate anymore. With big trucks getting 6.5 mpg there is probably to little backhaul to keep running at a profit.
I think it because they still have the auto workers union and you pay what they get a hr. plus their bennies. Now I'm not against unions it's just way to high to buy a car or truck today. There has to be a better way.
Can't really blame the cost of raw material either anymore. Steel and oil are lower than any time that I can recall in the last 10-15
