LS vs New Holland vs Kioti vs Mahindra

LS is a long rooted company, as said in here and other forums, they are here for the long haul. My LS dealer has several Montana's in for service, I asked how difficult are parts to find. He said, They have no issue servicing or sourcing parts, and I have to believe him as they are very well respected.

From what I have read, LS has deep pockets and are in it for the long haul. I bought mine four years ago, and there was only one dealer in the area, now there are four within a 90 minute drive. My g3033 has never been back to the shop, but I buy filters and such off the internet with no trouble.
We all like different things, but of the brands you mention, I didn't love the Mahindra, but I think any of them will serve you well.

Just looked at Mahindra's yesterday, and thought they offered a lot of tractor for the money. What is it about them that you didn't care for?

I looked at LS and Mahindra. Chose Mahindra. I didn't like the way the loader stuck out and the backhoe looked like it was an add on, not designed for the machine. I also liked that Mahindra sells more tractors world wide than anyone else. And had a 5 year warranty.... I think it's 7 years now. You don't get that big selling junk.

That said, LS is a good machine that you will be happy with.

Selling more or less tractors does not have a huge burden in my opinion! What I see is all the products you see heavily advertised or extreme ads, marketing etc add to cost of the machine as advertising is not free! From wix filters to moon chassis to pennzoil! Tractors are no different! I felt the fit and finish and the quality on Mahindra took a back step to LS again my opionin! But I know that with huge brand names you pay a percentage of their advertising and marketing cost the percentage is coming from your pocket!
A manufacture I represent to farm or tractor related builds a high end product however we are a little more than the smaller builders but way less than the big names

I think you are looking at this backward. LS Mtron is the parent company and thinking that they would stop making LS tractor brands and just make a rebadged tractor is like thinking that GM is going to stop making Chevy's and start making Kias or Fords.

LS didn't stop making Montana because they went to a different branding. Montana company went under and they were buying their tractors from LS just like New Holland so when Montana USA went under, no longer did LS badge the tractor but parts can be ordered for the Montana if you know the equivalent LS model. I would be more concerned about parts from NH, Massey, Case etc who badge their tractors made by LS. LS Mtron isn't going anywhere with their models but might not see any reason to support the other dealers if they drop their contract (like Montana did).
If you buy and LS tractor, LS is going to support it and dealers are on the rise not on the fall. When I bought my LS 6 years ago, there was only one dealer within 100 miles, now there are 3 that I know of and maybe more. I haven't kept up with pricing of the other tractors of similar HP to LS but when I bought mine, I got 20 more HP (70) for the same price as MF and Kubota 50 HP models AND got more standard equipment. Compared the Mahindra to the LS when I bought and it was like comparing a Chevy to a Mercedes in fit, finish, ergonomics AND accessories.

I had a Bobcat (Kioti) CT445 a while back and recently drove a similar sized JD for a little mowing project. I was really impressed with the JD as it just felt like a higher quality machine compared to the kioti. Shifting into h/l range was simple where the kioti h/m/l seemed like I was always messing with the shifter to get it into gear as it seemed to stick sometimes. The JD ran out strong, even when mowing and never slowed down.

I think in general you get what you pay for with tractors. The cheapest ones are usually just that. A quick glance at the front page of this forum will show you which brand of tractors are broke down often. A warranty can be very deceiving.

I'd take into consideration the dealer as well. Look for a long time dealer of this brand and an established business with full service and parts. Many of these value minded tractor dealers are selling tractors on the side and simply can't offer the service level that a real full service dealer can.

I looked at all of these before I bought my Branson. I would have bought the LS but I got a great deal and liked the Branson better than any of them. LS was the last one scratched off my list.

I think it may be the series of machine. For example Mahindra has the budget minded 2500 series and the nicer 1500 series machines the 2500 series are built in Korea while the 1500 series machines are made in Japan by Mitsubishi. That said the Mahindra manuals do suck but so far I like the machine a lot. Compared to New Hollands on the same lot, the Mahindras were more solid in build and the fit and finish was much nicer too. The NH was kinda tinney and they scrimped on a lot of stuff. Mahindra had a rubber floor mat while the NH floor was thin tin, cup holders on the Mahindra but none on the NH, handles etc. etc. etc. I've never seen a 2500 series up close so don't know about those. A JD I looked at didn't move me much either. I could never get enough interest from a Kubota dealer to take a close look at one, one never even left his desk so I didn't bother. If they aren't interested then neither am I.
