It won't surprise me if in the not too distant future...those that suffer from any ailment requiring mood altering or enhancing drugs...will be subjected to questioning about gun ownership etc...and any gun owner being prescribed said drugs will then be subjected to an array of background and history checks...
...Likewise...it won't surprise me if they add a prescription drug database check when they do general background checks when guns are purchased from dealers etc...

While I tend to agree with you, accessing medical records, which are PHI, would require exemption from HIPAA regulations.

Depression is just another human affliction that has been around since Adam's sin, some of the people that God had pen the bible had depression, that's why there's so many verses/chapters written about it. Bible believing Christians can deal with it better, but most will try to cure it with alcohol and drugs, at best that only end's up as a temporary fix and can have some terrible side affects.

I know there are some people that are brain wired right and think right and have no trouble with depression or anything, life is just grand> the positive thinkers.
But for me I'll keep some bible verse in my mine and have faith that it's right and true.>Rev. 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Deut.30:19>I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:>>Matt.11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
The bottom line, there's no log lasting cure for anything til the next life, just doing the best I can.

I wish they'd do this for those seeking public office. Maybe we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now if they did.

I suffered from serious, and I mean very serious, depression for over 30 years. It was caused by a chemical imbalance, (serotonin) and once my wife, doctor and I figured out what it was I got a great medication that really really helped. Also, I left a job that I absolutely hated and that did nothing but bring destructive, negative stress into my life. After a year away from the job, I was able to stop the medication and am now totally free of the serotonin imbalance (for years too!). I am sharing this because to me the most important things are to first, realize what is happening to you, second, make the changes you can to help offset the problem, and thirdly, always remember that you don't have to live that way. There is help, you can feel better and you can help others realize they can feel better too.

I wish you the best, don't be scared of depression and anxiety, you can treat it and be happy!!!

I've been doing better lately don't have time to be depressed or anything else right now. A few times at night when I sit down I feel it creep up on me and I either make myself sleep or get up and work more.

I also quit worrying about things like my yard or other things I can't get to right away and stopped letting some folks bother me.

I personally think depression is another way pharmaceutical companies to shove more unhealthy pills down the throat of willing patients. Everyday you wake up above ground no matter what you are dealing with you need to put your pants on and shoes and do what you need to do. Yes there things in people's life that get them sad and that's OK but you just need to keep trucking. One thing that improves sadness is eat healthy and quit watching TV especially the news and quit worrying about everything. Life is to short to give a darn
There are many varying degrees of depression. Most of it most of us can "get over" given time.

I just went through a bout of depression after losing an uncle and then having to "put down" a LOVED Corgi (encephalitis). It took me a few months to stop remember seeing the Corgi around the house. I still have bouts of sadness when I run across one of her toys that have not been "put up". The only thing that REALLY helped me through it was losing other loved ones in the past and knowing I WOULD get through it.

I suffer from depression every time I turn the news on rather what passes for the news these days. Apparently both the media and the county have gone totally insane and have no standards or limits or the idiotic stuff they'll pull.

Don't turn on the news. If it hurts when you hit your head with a 4x4 try using a 1x1 or just not hitting your head.

Taylor - GREAT to read you are doing better, don't let the big things slide, put off what you can, get some exercise cleaning up what you can when the weather cools off.

Keep checking in!
