Ok,thanks very much to all. I will keep searching for solutions. Where would the ground strap be located?
Start at the negative terminal of the battery then look for straps connecting the frame to the engine block etc. All current flow requires complete positive and negative paths to the battery to work. You could use an Ohm meter with one end connected to the negative terminal of the battery to trace them from each circuit. A higher resistance reading in ohms is a problem.Ok,thanks very much to all. Maybe a missing ground connection. It usually is when things start to turn wierd like that.
I would change the 30 amp fuse even though it looks good.
Fuses ' can ' show continuity with a meter or old timey AA battery continuity light, and still fail to pass real current. Fuses can also be mechanically/electrically good one minute, and open the next, and visey versa. Old timey electrician, here... Emphasis on the ' old ' ....![]()
