More and more I go to Amazon to buy stuff. It's just not worth the time it takes to run around to stores and not find what is supposed to be there.
Same here. Makes my life easier to have stuff show up without needing to go chase around town for it.

same here in central Ohio. They were great 5 years ago. now the hardware and tractor parts are understocked, L & G parts and feed is overpriced. about the only thing we shop there is clothing during clearance time. with a RK in a former walmart building right next door, I am not sure how they are keeping the doors open.

... The next town over just got a rural king store and wow does it blow tractor supply out of the water! That store is enormous! The quality of things isn't much better but you can find just about anything. They even have an entire stihl section.
Wife and I made the 23 mile trip to the Rural King store in Wooster yesterday evening ... first time there.

Older place and a bit disorganized (supposedly they are in the middle of remodeling) but as you say: it blows our local TSC's out of the water ... tons of inventory and good pricing. I'll be going back.

This was after I tried to use TSC's website to check out their selection of hydraulic cylinders. Enter "hydraulic cylinder" in the search box on TSC's website and it returns everything BUT hydraulic cylinders ... :confused2: ... complete joke.

I gave up going to TSC as well. It became a wasted trip there as empty bins were becoming the norm. Couldn't even find a standard sized clevis my last trip there. Pretty sad. I don't know how they stay in business.

Our local TSC has went downhill over the last five years, at one time I spent 10-12k a year with them, but new management has turned it into less than useful farm store.

I may spend 1k now, moved most of my business to a local mom and pop feed store who is willing to stock items I want, TSC is either out or has one when I need four, and they never know when they will get more. That eventually runs off customers.

I only go now if no one else has what I need.

My problem with them is they carry lots of cheap made in China tools, hardware, etc. It's basically a high price Harbor Freight.

The only good thing is that sell bolts by the pound.

If you have a local hardware store support them instead of corporations like TSC or Lowes.

TSC has small stores around here so that limits what they can carry. That being said, why is it logical to use 25% of the limited floor space for horse feed? :confused3: Perhaps they haven't noticed tractors replaced horses?

Bolts by the pound is the best reason to go to TSC and its the closest store that does so unless I'm at work. At some point, I'm going to buy bolt bins and keep my own stock, then only get more when my supply gets low.

Corporate likely is only interested in % change in gross sales from last year and the EBITDA. Stock levels - nah.

How much are the bolts by the pound at TSC? I just paid $2.99 a pound for grade 5 bolts that I use as sheer pins
