Portable Lithium Ion jump starter ??

Batteries, starters and alternators last much longer now. Engines now start on the first rotation instead of several tries of extended cranking due to poor tune, too much choke, too little choke or vapour lock.

PLEASE test it out and review it for us. That darn thing is SMALL.

I agree it is small but seems to have some arse to it as far as starting capabilities.I will try to keep ya posted..

If my math is correct,,, that is a 16 amp-hour battery,,,
A VERY small car battery is 450 amp-hours,,, a large one is 1,000 amp-hours.

If all else fails,, it will keep your cell phone charged,,,

Hey listen do your math anyway you want to(16800mAh & 800 peak amps). What I am looking for if my battery or alternator in my car/truck takes a crap 1 or 2 good cranks to get it started.I do believe this unit will get the job done.

I just spent an hour reading the user reviews on Amazon for similar units using criteria of at least 4 stars from a minimum of 25 users, and under $50. Based on the user reviews it looks like to start a 2.5L car or 1.2-liter diesel (my tractors), anything claiming 14,000 mah, 600 instantaneous surge amps - and verified useful by a large number of user reviews - would be a useful buy. The reviews emphasized these are to assist a low battery, they aren't sufficient to replace a missing or stone-dead damaged battery.

Obviously a larger rating/more cost would be needed for bigger equipment. The ones I saw were under 2 lbs and most came in a carrying case with several adapters to power various laptops. Most work by transferring their charge into the vehicle battery rather than cranking directly off the jump battery.

I have a 24AH lead-acid battery jump starter that I keep in the house for power outages to power 12v LED lighting and an inverter. But that's too large and heavy to carry in a car continually. These little units - under 2 lbs - with nearly as much capacity, seem ideal to keep in the glovebox.

I'm convinced, I want one!

What do you mean when you say your other stuff rides with the lawn mower battery? Are they just sitting in the trunk as a means of jumping your dead battery, or are they wired in somewhere on the vehicle to provide more available power? Just curious since you didn't really elaborate on your setup.

I have replaced the normal batteries in my 99 Mustang and my JD 855 with the battery pictured. I also use the same battery on my gate opener and lawn mower. It is the highest amp battery I could find in it's size and weight. I originally experimented with the idea in the Mustang as a weight saving measure when I was racing it. The first one I put in the Mustang ran 5 years so I replaced it with the same. I think the price went up from $25 to $28. All the others are less than 5 years old but continue to run strong.

I'm not buying that his 575E starts with a 300CCA L&G battery.

Ummm no, it requires a little more omph.

On a side note this thread jinxed me. My alternator light came on in my truck this morning. Went ahead and ordered a new alternator for that and my backhoe from DB Electric this morning.
