kapper, you use your tractor for everything that you possibly can, and that's how it should be!:D

Of all the implements that you have which would you say provides the most utility? I realize that there's several different tasks that you're needing to do and that each is important in order to get the final results you're aiming for.

Can you put a toothbar on that 4n1 bucket? Wondering if that's the way to go instead of a grapple for my upcoming purchase. Tell the dealer to keep the one that comes with it and get a 4n1 w/a piranha tooth bar or something.

The one I got has to sets of small teeth on the side jaws. This kind of really makes it more 'utility' than specific. But I believe you can order them with teeth also. I like the setup that I have because if it had a tooth bar it would A) ruin anything you pick up and B) would not let go of things that you clamp on to and you'd constantly have to be getting off the tractor to knock stuff out of your jaws! Which would defeat its purpose! So, being the 2nd 4 in 1 I've had for me, this is the best way to go. There really is nothing that I can't pick up now the way it is so I don't see a need for teeth, except for the small side teeth like I have.

Well, really I'd say the 4 in 1 bucket, but I know you're talking about the rear of the tractor! :). Gosh... too dang hard to narrow that down... I'd say for hunters/foodplotters it has to be a tiller. Otherwise it really comes down to the farm type. Before this farm I never really used or needed a blade. Now, I couldn't function without it seeing I have a new road that's nearly a mile long!

The grapple is really more for brush.. It is rounded, where the 4 in 1 is flat.. It really depends on how much you will actually use it for roots and brush.. I'd say if you're going to just do a little then go with the 4 in 1. But if its going to be a LOT of serious brush/roots, then maybe the grapple. But IMO the 4 in 1 with side teeth is way, way more versatile...

Thanks, folks!

By implements I was thinking about anything that you'd attach to the tractor (buckets, esp 4in1 apply). So, in an attempt to not bias the response to my question I kind of pushed away from what I think I was kind of expecting to hear.: 4in1.

I was talking to my wife about this and I told her I was trying to decide whether a grapple or a 4in1 and her response: "No brainer! 4in1!"

I have a tooth bar on my B7800's bucket and it's allowed me to do a whole heck of a lot more work, digging and prying crap. But, as eluded to, teeth can get in the way, such as when wanting to do grading.

I am thinking that I need to grab larger pieces of stuff, larger branches/logs and that the 4in1 would be better suited for this. As noted, I prefer to have a bucket on the front most of the time.

A detachable tooth bar on a 4in1 would work great for me. I'd wait to see how it does without one first though.

blb078, thanks for the tip on ordering the tractor and loader without the bucket. Probably wouldn't likely use that bucket if I had a 4in1.

At the rear the priority will be a flail mower.

Quick questions:

What size of 4in1 would/should I be shooting for for a tractor in the 50-55hp range? Yes, I know that the hydraulics are the limiting factor, but somewhere in here would be consideration for the tractor's weight.

Would any SSQA bucket work? I see a lot of used being advertised for Bobcats. Needing to purchase several attachments will drain the pocketbook rather quickly, so if I can find used I'd want to go that route.

And then I have to wonder whether getting a used tractor that already has a bunch of remotes (I want a couple in the rear in addition for the front) and a 4in1 would be the route to go? Something like this? (it's not a Kioti; I might look to sell the backhoe; shipping costs are likely going to be in the $2,000 range [I'm no stranger to buying out-of-state])

Not meaning to distract from the great setups here with the Kiotis. (I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger on a new NX5510; just want to see what kind of costs I'll be looking at when outfitted with what I need.)
