My JD 650 will set most of the winter,,, well,,, except for some "sport riding" in the snow,,,

A previous tractor I owned some decades ago had a lever to block the clutch disengaged,,,
so the clutch would not "stick" because the clutch disk could rust to the flywheel.

Do I need to consider adding this to the 650? Does anyone have pics of a possible clutch block?

Thanks for looking!!

Yes, do it. Stick a block of wood in the pedal linkage to hold it down a bit.

Or a bungee cord to tie it should work too.. But many thanks for the awesome winter pic. I can hardly wait for that weather to come back around.

No skeeters, no bugs, no heat, no humidity .. and snow to push around.

Too sad to let it sit most of the winter! Should be out pushing snow. Is it stored in or out?

I have plenty of room to store it inside,,,

I was planning on using it to move snow, but, last winter dictated a need for more machine,,

The 650 would have trouble with this,,,

What does your owner's manual have to say?

The manual for my Kubota says to use a clutch block when the tractor is not used for an "extended period," but doesn't specify what constitutes an "extended period." The tractor came with a small block with a dado on one sdie for that purpose.

The manual for my NH is silent on the matter.

Then why block the clutch? ... Because its something to do?

My Mitsubishi MT-372 had the clutch stick setting in a similar shed,,,

I think the clutch will stick with very little moisture present,,,

800 pages -- Wow!

I would look under "Extended Storage" or something similar.
