Looking over 4100 series loader and bh specs, they seem to be a little under average for a 40-50hp tractor. Mostly in height and digging depth. The loader only lifts to 96" which is about a foot less than the kioti and some other brands in similar hp range, and the BH digging depth is about 90" and bucket digging force is just under 2700lbs both seem to be low compared to others in the same category. Anyone every use either of these two and wish you had more height, digging depth, or digging force?

The height issue has been discussed a few times. Its not just the 4100 series, its the same on the older models too. Most of the LS models have lower lift height than other brands. I brought this fact up a couple years ago to the local LS rep I met at the tractor show. I provided him with a list of other brands loader lift heights and mentioned LS was losing a lot of sales due to that. He said he would look into it. I don't know how long it takes the manufacturer to redesign their loaders but not much has changed yet. I didn't need the extra lift height when I was buying so the lower sales price and standard features of LS over other brands made my decision.
Can't help on the BH. I don't do much hoe work but when I do I use a Woods BH750 on mine and it does fine.

Yea the loader was the big thing I noticed. Just seemed odd it lifts a foot or some cases more than a foot less than others. I guess that is a trade off for the low price, but even TYM and Kioti loaders lift a lot higher than the LS. I'm not sure how much of a different 1' will make but it's just something I noticed.

I haven't had any issues with loader height, but when loading a standard dump trailer, the grill guard hits the side of the trailer before the bucket gets to the center of the trailer. I think that's more a grill guard issue than the loader though. I think someone on here modified theirs to help this. I'm thinking I will too. I don't see the need to have it stick out so far.

As far as the backhoe, I don't have any complaints. It seems to work as I would expect. I bought a narrower bucket for drain tile work but haven't used it yet. I don't generally have to dig much further than five or six feet down, so the 90" limit is ok. It has dug up stumps and through roots as big as I needed it to. It's a CUT backhoe. If you have any serious digging to do, it would be better to have a purpose built backhoe or an excavator. CUTs don't generally have the hydraulic power to do the same job.

I think that with the loader, you trade lift capacity for lift height... look how far the kioti bucket is in front of the axle compared to LS. The longer loader frame gives better lift height and reach, but less lift capacity.

The 4-series uses the same BH as the 3-series. It should use a bigger BH in my opinion too... I'll opt for an aftermarket hoe, and build my own sub frame if the 3pt seems inadequate.

The Kioti actually lifts slightly more than the LS. 2746 vs 2713lb. But the kioti lifts a foot higher too. On the bh I don't mind. The LS backhoe is reasonably priced even lower than most non 3pt BH so that I don't mind because the cost is low too, and it will probably do everything you need it to do anyway w/o having to go to an actual mini ex. But the loader height is something I've been thinking about. I may go look at a TYM and Branson this week but the dealers are about 90 minutes away and my personal feeling is that LS is more stable in the U.S. than those two(don't know if that is true just seems that way based on stuff I've read). So if I do go w/the LS it will be because the price was to good to pass up and I'll just have to deal w/the loader issue or as I've stated in another thread a few scoops of dirt in the bucket to make myself a small ramp or something to get some extra height. Guess that won't be to bad when saving a few grand over the Kioti.

If you like the LS, you might check into a New Holland. They use a different loader that has a bit more height iirc.;

Yea I thought about that. The price is a few grand more though. I'm more than likely going with the LS, figured for the 4-6k savings vs other brands I can deal with the lower height. A few scoops of dirt in the bucket will make up for that when needed.
