Oil pressure light came on brand new Mahindra 2538

I just bought my first tractor. I have 4 hours on it and today the oil pressure light came on. I checked the manual and it says to contact a professional. Unfortunately it is Labor Day weekend. I was moving it to my trailer and forward stopped working. I turned it off and then started again. Forward worked again. It is parked until I can reach my dealer on Tuesday. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Welcome! I just replied to your other thread that was created on this exact topic in the "general" forum. Duplicate posts are hard to follow and respond to. Best to just put your question in one place in my humble opinion.

Typically this here forum would be the appropriate place for it, and anyone who is an active user and typically helpful and providing useful replies will check "Today's Posts" frequently and be able to see all posts from all threads in Chronological order.

Just didn't want you to lose crucial info by having multiple threads going. You might want to delete one or the other and perhaps copy/paste the other two responses here if you chose to delete that other thread. GOOD LUCK!

My thought too.

I would be inclined to think that the sending unit is faulty
and not the oil pump or bearing clearances.

It could even be bad ECU programming. There seems to be a lot of ECU reflashing going on with recent Mahindra tractors. I had an inop temp gauge that was due to the ECU program. I don't know why they are letting machines get out into distribution with bad ECU programming. Know what I know now, if I were to take delivery on a new machine today I'd insist that the dealer reflash the ECU with the latest code before I'd accept it.
