OK, I'm busted. I wear flip-flops all the time I can. I put on shoes or boots when working but around the house, shopping, at the office, etc. I'm in flip flops. The wife and I went to a friend of a friend's horse farm last weekend to get a pickup full of manure. About 1/2 way there the wife says "Great we're both wearing flip flips." Well at least all I had to do was put the truck where he wanted and he filled with a loader, but I was embarrassed.
Me too... love flip flops now that I found a brand with great arch support. I should be a little more careful in the garage though.

My wife and I always find ourselves in the middle of something and realize we ought to be wearing something else. Usually when we drop something on a toe. Sperry are the only ones I found with arch support so I can wear them.

I had a visitor that wouldn't take more than one step from his car for fear he'd get manure on his fancy tennis shoes with fancy laces. He stood there or sat inside the car for what must have been 2 hours.

I am currently in Portland Oregon with my clan. The metro area has 2.3mil people.

The entire state of NH has 1.2mil and the closest town to us has about 3000 people. This is all my sons have ever known.

We have been using the public transportation system. I garuentee you multiple people have gone home to talk about the stupid rural people they met on the bus....

It has been an eye-opening trip for my 4yr old.

I hate flip flops. I'm not a big fan of any sandals.

I'm a young guy (35) and now that I escaped metropolis life and live out in the country it amazes me how many 'city slickers' believe that everyone that lives or chooses to live out in the country and put in some honest labor is an uneducated 'hick'. I'm a college-educated, married, father with a decent salary that just happens to enjoy digging holes, mowing, and turning wrenches more than sitting on my arse playing video games or being trapped in my cube farm. Forced cube farm labor is what allows me to enjoy my 'off' time. I actually feel kind of funny when I wear my brand new Massey hat that came with my GC1720 because it is so clean.

I have several co-workers that wonder why I live 'so far away' from work (<30 miles) and don't care about repairing the gravel drive or raising chickens or our dogs. These selfish city folk want to just work and go home and think they they are 'living the dream'. They are all nuts.

I have a high-skill, fairly well paid professional career. My 4yr old son loves to introduce himself and family to ANY new person.
Usually it goes "this is my mom. She is a nurse. This is my dad he is the best worker ever." To him, a 'worker' is anyone who does manual labor.

His mom says, "poor dad, he get no credit, he has 5 college degrees and his son thinks he's a combo farm/construction worker." (Because that what he sees me, and 'helps' me do.)

But I think it's great. To him, someone who can build something or fix something is held is very high reguard. I want it to stay that way. These are the producers and people who make life better for everyone else and are more self-sufficient.

I'm proud of the hard work that went into my education but for now I'm very happy to see him just appreciate hard work.

You and me both! Flip flops hurt my toes and the "flap-flap" noise drives me up the wall.

And you never know when you might need to run by the shop and weld something. Sandals just don't get along good with my routine. I do something nearly everyday that doesn't workout well with sandals.

Wearing flip flops surely makes for easy cleanup with a hose!
