Not trying to start a flame war. Kubota vs John Deere CUTS

Brother went light on the Landpride Box Blade for his L3800 and bent it the first day... Dealer/Landprided made it good... plus it was wrapped into the original sale so I think warranty extended and Kubota coverage... not up on it but there was some benefit to being part of the purchase.

He also bought the Landpride Kubota forks and the dealer would not sell him the lightweight ones... the heavy ones are used all the time without any problems... it is just heavier forks take away from payload...

My dealer sells Landpride everything unless you ask for something different, with one exception, the Box Blade. Both tractors I've bought I've gotten box blades and both are Dirt Dog brand. My L3800 came with the Dirt Dog SBX 72. Strong as can be and weighed about 550#. My BX2370 came with a lighter duty BB, but 60".

Kubota openly promotes the fact they make their own motors all over their YouTube channel.

Kubota may make their own engines and I have no problem with that. All is good. With all the fans of Kubotas they must be good.

But does Kubota make their transmissions, headlights, seat, steering wheel, wheels, tires. Nope. John Deere doesn't either. Other people do. John Deere makes some engines for some CUTs and uses Yanmars for others. Smaller tractors JD uses Kawasaki, Yanmar and maybe some others.

But John Deeres sure are pretty.

Kubota makes all the major components of their tractors - engines and transmissions as well as the major implements, e.g., front loader, mowers and backhoes. Now do they order pumps and other components from a third party supplier, I'm sure they do. Not sure, but in that size class, they are likely the one mfg who make the largest % of their tractor.

And yes JD are pretty, 10 years ago I stumbled upon an almost new MX5000, it was too good to pass up otherwise I might have gone for a Deere

Pretty doesn't get the job done, doesn't make the tractor any better and surely doesn't make it worth 1 cent more than the so called ugly tractor! Actually after a few years of use out here the pretty one will almost always look worse than the plain jane.

I looked at a JD today that I saw just 5 years ago when it was new and it looks like ****. Plastic fenders hanging/sagging, hood cracked and rattles seat worn and cracked Now I know other brands that people say don't seem to have the fit and finish that have been treated worse and they all look better than this.

...Gotta run this past the wife.
Oh no... this is part of the fun. See what you can slip pass the wife. Just to see if she is paying attention. She'll catch on if you have a couple of the same attachments... got busted for two spike aerators!!!

Ps. My greatest worry is that she might sell them behind my back, for what I told her I bought them for...

So tell me, who else has the GST transmission and the HST+ transmission if Kubota buys it from somebody else? Those are both a Kubota exclusive.

As far as I can determine Kubota makes their own transmissions and hydraulic pumps. There are Chinese copies in the parts markets but original OME parts are made in Japan by Kubota. HS.
