I installed a steel canopy on my DK45s a couple years back, a good improvement IMO. But I notice slight movement (fore and aft) and a squeeking from the base of the ROPS as I traverse uneven ground. My loader mount has a round cross bar (with big bolts at each end) that connects to the large fixed loader brackets. I considered making a strut for each side (probably from conduit) to better support the front corners of the canopy frame from that crossbar.

What do others here think? Is this a non-issue? Might it cause other problems? Have others done something similar?

I have seen it done, and thought about doing it myself. Mine is pretty stable without it but it is an idea. Let us know if you do it, how it works out.

I used the loader mount for the front support of my canopy. Makes a nice place to attach a mirror:drink:

Front struts will help deflect branches out of your face too.

Hey James, today while mowing roadbanks with the Ford in 90 degree sunny heat I thought of you.

I want a lightweight, ROPS mounted, easy to remove canopy. Gotta be easy to remove cause I'm in timber a lot. Thanks.

To the OP, Dieselcrawler has a great thread covering his canopy build. I also posted a thread about the canopy I built on my Kubota. On my phone now and not smart enough to link you.

It's me that's not smart enough,,, not my phone.....

Richard, our kids tell my wife "mom, you need a dumb phone, I just showed you how to ________" Dang phones are getting out of hand, I grew up with a rotary dial wall hanger on a party line...

However... here ya go, hope it helps.
