What is Power Trac doing to help? Do you think it might be the fuel pump?

I'm going to call them tomorrow and see about arranging a service visit in Tazewell. I don't want to risk messing things up further while still on warranty.

Maybe there is still crud in the fuel tank that is coming out? Do you see anymore of that goo on the fuel filter?

There hasn't been anymore goo in filter. I'm planning a vacation near Tazewell next week. I'm going to leave it there a few days to give them plenty of time to fix and test it.

Thats a good idea; let them find out whats going on because machinery like that shouldn't be leaving Tazewell like that. I hope they get ya all fixed up.

Seems like this is a common problem. I assume they know but in case they do not, you might want to tell Terry about it. An easy place to do some quality control.

Maybe you missed some crud in the gas tank and it plugged things up again.

That's possible. Terry seemed to think there might be a carb issue since it runs better with choke on. Also this time there is a lot more fuel in the filter than before when the line was stopped up.

I figured I'd just take it back to Tazewell next week since I am off and let them fix it. Just hope they really fix it unlike my self repairs which seem to work for only an hour or two.

I can't believe all this hassle on a brand new machine. I bought my 425 used with 250 hours on it, and didn't experience all this. I guess PTRich got to deal with all the birthing pains before I bought it...

So sorry to hear all this!

Update: Dropped machine off at Tazewell on Monday and picked up yesterday. They cleaned out the carb and to my surprise changed the oil, painted the old rock bucket I purchased from KentT, and washed the entire machine.

Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the service I've received from PT.

Having said that, it was hard to hold back my disappointment when it started sputtering like before when Terry started it to load on trailer. He called the mechanic back to look at it and he said water must've gotten into solenoid for a coil when they washed it... said should go away as it warms up and evaporates. I ran it a little bit more and sure enough it started running better.

I haven't run it anymore since then so I guess the verdict is still out on whether it is fixed for good. I'll post a status update when I've had a chance to run it some.

Man, I hope this resolves the issues... It's hard to believe what you've gone through with a brand new machine.
