I need an anti-trespasser Go-Pro for my RTV

Trespassing is enforced around here and trail cameras are icing.
Know people who were asked by game warden where they were and they crossed onto private land no more than 20' and on their own admission were arrested.

Enforcement is less important than having a solid legal paper trail of abuse. Plus, the fact that they have to take a day off from work to drive 2 hours - one way- to go to court, even if the judge lets them off, no biggie, it still cost them.

The good news is that trespassing is enforced here. People here don't take kindly to trespassers.

Do you have a camera recommendation?[/QUOTE

With all the great go pro like camera's out there and phone mounts for vechicles, you would not want what I use which is a Sony Digital8 8mm video recorder. Had it for a long time and it still works great, can still get parts and battery's off internet.

Ok first Kub Toy, you hate to agree with me? Why is that? Is it personal or situational or something else (JK!). I would think the only useful purpose of a camera in this instance as I understand it would be for you to video tape from afar and verbaly warn the perp that he is trespassing and catch some incriminating identifier, License plate clear facial that can be ID'd, something that showed him trespassing and you doing nothing but observing. If it were me, I tend to confront trespasser which is why I don't get many. We had some folks selling frozen meat cruising our neighborhood. They would show up, say that someone had ordered the meat, but backed out and now they had to sell the meat, meaning a great deal for me. I think they were actually scoping residences in our area. They were met in at least three instances by homeowners with guns demanding they get off the property. Strangely enough they have not returned. I told them they need to leave and if they returned they would be treated as trespassers with warning.

I apologize for not being clear as to the point I hated to agree with... which was the point you made was that cameras aren't getting the results communities were hoping for. You would think that clear video proof would be enough but everybody sees something different when they watch a video depending on your background and perspective.

If they parked a vehicle on your property, it'd almost be worth it to get one of these just to see the look on their face when they got back to it:

Trimax TWL100 Ultra Max Wheel Lock | eBay

Trail cam with motion-activated video recording could be set up to catch the moment to share on local news, YouTube, etc. ;)

RTV Camera Mark I, an old Canon Sureshot, 680p resolution (i.e. better then nothing):

not trying to take the discussion off track but that carbine seems like it could make most people stop showing up on your property.

Do you know what agency/department he works for and have you reported him?

Later,
Dan

Yes, he is Washington State Patrol
Too much "good old boy" crap around here... I would have nothing but trouble..

Last time I saw them (he had his son with him), they were parking along the highway (1/4 mile from my property). I pulled up beside and rolled down the window and told them, you know I don't allow you to hunt on my property, you know where the lines are, there is no excuse for trespassing. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?. the young man said yes, won't be a problem, his father refused to answer. They were gone when I came home and I have not seen them this year.

Actually, it's a Colt HBAR full 20" rifle. But your point is entirely valid and that's one of the reasons I have it on the RTV (and on the tractor when I'm using the tractor).

Didn't see them this weekend, it was pretty windy here this weekend, not really conducive to bow hunting.

Ordering two DBPower cameras as we speak.
