They are rated for up to 3" but you will know if you cut anything that thick - it will make a heck of a racket!

I've got my BB720X mounted on one frame size up and the cutter itself is very robust.

I expect you'll enjoy a lifetime of use mounted on your tractor. :)

BTW, the best time to brush out junk is when you can see what you're doing.

I've never heard "picking up twigs" connected with brush hogging. Anything smaller than my wrist I run over and chop into mulch. I agree the best time of year to mow off ground cover is when it's leafless.

"Twigs" was used as a slang term when I was picked up large chunks of windfall birch trees.

I have that same mower on an L5740, and it has been really good. Just last year I had to replace the input shaft seal, but that's the first and only repair in the nearly 20 years that I have owned it. And I work it hard, with frequent encounters with hidden stumps and rocks.

When cutting saplings, the underside of the tractor is more vulnerable than the mower. I have broken a variety of things over the years on my tractor because of saplings, sticks, and branches getting shoved into places where they are not welcome.

Yep! One year I ran a 1"D stick through my oil filter. Since the oil filter is above the exhaust pipe on a MF135, a punctured oil filter became obvious before I noticed the oil pressure dropping.
