How to Plumb into this Manifold for Auxiliary Valve?

Return is return. As in return to tank. It is most assuredly NOT the feed for the next valve. The only time this port/line has flow is when a downstream valve is stroked.

This shows the manifold with its nomenclature on the New Holland TC29DA.

The hydraulic pump output is rated at 7.5 GPM (not including power steering) on the tractor and I'll be adding about 10 feet of hose including to and from the remote valve. Would you guys recommend 3/8" or 1/2" (ID) hose? The existing steel lines are 1/2" OD between the manifold and the FEL valve(s)
Thanks

Either will do equally well.

I would much prefer the 3/8" hose with it's less bulk and shorter bend radius. My concern was that it might restrict the flow too much as it is only half the cross section area of 1/2" ID.
This nomograph would indicate the 3/8" as being too small but sometimes practical experience surpasses the theoretical. I suppose the main thing is that the restriction doesn't generate too much heat with the open center system???
