Curious because I purchased mine used with 50 hours and could never get the loader to float. Today I tore into the 4 position valve and found the issue, it was outside the pressure boundary inside the sealed cap on the bottom of the valve assembly.
Corrosion had fused the return spring collar to the shaft. I can only assume it was condensation from the hot fluid that allowed corrosion to build up, one side was worse with no signs of grease from the factory, and it required heat to break loose.
Fortunately I did not need to replace anything, but it was time consuming since it was investigative, and trying to reconcile how everything inter acted within the controller., furthermore, the collar fused to the shaft stub end flush with a shoulder, appearing as if it was and internal part of the stub end..
Just one of those oddities I thought I would bounce off y'all if it helps anyone.
Mine is a BX 23 TLB..

Has happened before. On my loader, lubed everything up and drilled hole in low side of spool cap.

We were talking about drilling a weeper yesterday. It was diffinately not what we had expected to find for sure.

Lots of common issues in that ballpark, all with a root cause of junk building up or sticking in that cap. Affects most makes & models, not just Kubota.

You did that too?? I thought I was the only one.

Anyway, that drilled hole is a good place to stick the spray tube from a can of WD-40 and hose it down.

Yes do that too, sometimes hosing something down with WD-40 is good. You know that control snaps in like new and no problems. Log splitter did it too once.
