I am wondering about replacing the rear work lights on my B3030HSDC Kubota with LED bulbs. I am wondering if any who have made a similar change or added LED work lights for snow blowing have had trouble with them getting covered with snow. There isn't much heat to keep them melted off, but perhaps they don't warm up enough to cause the snow to stick.

I would also appreciate recommendations for lights to buy.

We work in snow lots and following is some points that we've learned. Spots are better than floods and they are our preferred lights. Nonetheless, snow has such high reflective characteristics, it seems to make little difference which we use. LED's do become warm and snow will stick to the lenses, but much of the light still passes through it. I'll attach a couple of photos with lights. Hope that helps.

On my tractors I have 6" light bars front and rear but on my Mini Ex I put a 24" spot/flood combo and that was the way to go. Awesome amount of lighting and works really well.
Its a "Topcarlight 24inch 120w LED Work Light Bar Flood/spot Combo Beam Lights 4wd SUV UTE Off Road Car Boat Lamps" - was $23.00 DELIVERED. No idea how they can do it so cheap but it works great!

If I did a lot of work at night & in snow I would get a single marine flood light from JD McDermott out of New York. They aren't cheap - $350 to $450 - but being LED & 12VDC they only draw 10 to 50 watts and can light up an area half the size of a football field. They provide excellent illumination and will provide a significant level of safety, if you should be working out on the public streets.

As a reference - they are what was normally used on fishing boats in Alaska.

I think the lights you posted below would work fine. If you can mount them higher, that's a plus as well.

Do I want a flood lamp style or spot light style? I am in and out of driveways while people are sleeping and don't want to be too intrusive. The bulbs in my present lights are 35 watt, so I am looking at two 18 watt LED's which should give as good a light. Iwill post a link that should show what I am looking at.

We have several similar lights on ATVs, Mules, Mini Ex, 2 tractors and never had any problems. (mostly roll bar mounts on the tractors and Mini Ex) The ones on the tractors get some tough use - They are used in the rain, snow, etc and never had any problem. The 24" bar gives off a LOT of light - easy 50 yards worth (never going to out run my lights with the mini Ex or tractor..... LOL)
The ones on the ATVS and SxS have been smacked by limbs bunches of times and one on a ATV (Not mine, I just did the lightbar wiring for the fellow) survived a wreck that destroyed the plastic, front bumper, 1 headlight, and speedometer pod - he brought it over after the accident to show me how well the light bar did and that it still worked.
