Hammer wrench & a slip on pipe bent to fit.

Or get a shallow socket and use a 24 inch pipe wrench on it.

I still say get a ratcheting box wrench, cut it in half, weld a 6" extension in the center. Working that many small bolts with a standard box wrench, at 1/6 turn at a time, takes forever. Ratchet wrenches are made for jobs just like this.

I'm curious... Why are you replacing the bolts on that slitter? It looks like it's in great shape with little wear.

Different but same model slitter. Bolts never wear on slitters or tillers, just the blades/tines. Tines can be worn to a nub and bolts will look perfect.
I do use a ratchet wrench on the other side.

Very creative. Have limited arc of travel so too long is no good.

That's what bending is for! Seeing as your adding the extension it should be just the right length??

Ahh, ok. I wondered how the blades looked like new and you were swapping them, or the bolts. I wish I had a small slitter, either stand alone or an attachment for my BCS. I would rework bad areas on the lawn more often if I did.

Slit seeders work but are heavy, awkward and very expensive. It works as well to put seed down in January or so and let frost action work it into the ground. OSU says it will germinate 11 days earlier in the spring compared with direct seeding. I'm going to do a half acre of my own lawn this way over the winter.

Best bet is to prep and seed the area you want in late August and then shake straw over it. Wet it with a hose and ten days later rake up the straw and admire your started seed. Water it and if you didn't fertilize when you put it down do it and water it in. You can leave the straw if thin enough but raking gets all the clumps up. I do it all the time on tough areas.

I'm guessing you tried this but it's one we used to use all the time at the garage:

It's a pain since you have to use both hands but it it might work to break the nuts free. Maybe you've solved this problem already...

I use that double wrench trick often... Real lifesaver at times.

I use the double wrench trick often. I've also slipped a pipe over the end. I've heated and bent wrenches to make a custom angle wrench. I've never cut 2 wrenches and welded them back together. Before I did that I would cut 1 wrench and add a piece in it or cut the end off to allow a smaller pipe to go over it.

I use the double wrench trick quite often.
